Investors sold off Craft Brew Alliance (CBA) shares today after the company, which produces Kona, Widmer, Redhook and Omission brands, released disappointing third quarter earnings yesterday. During an investor call following up the earnings report, CEO Terry Michaelson expressed his dissatisfaction with the company’s overall return.

While many craft brewers actively pursue new retail opportunities in convenience stores, grocery chains and large mainstream restaurant accounts, Avery Brewing’s national sales director Ted Whitney said the company is still focusing sales efforts at what he calls ‘low hanging fruit.
Ninkasi Brewing broke ground last Thursday on an $18 million expansion that will not only allow for increased production capacity but also will add additional warehouse and office space for the Eugene, Ore.-based craft brewer. The multi-structure expansion plan includes a 7,800 square foot warehouse to be used for cold storage and local distribution.
