Massachusetts-based Willie’s Superbrew emerged as the winner of Brewbound’s 2018 Pitch Slam competition, beating out seven other emerging craft brands during the two-day Brewbound Live business conference in Santa Monica, California. The business pitch competition, sponsored by Craft Brew Alliance, featured eight contestants who delivered pitches during an initial judging round. Five companies advanced to the finals on Day Two of the Brewbound Live event.

Flavorwave is the latest creation from Indeed Brewing Company’s Head Brewer, Josh Bischoff, who explains, “For the recipe of our first year-round IPA, we felt it was appropriate to explore current trends in hopping techniques both in the brew kettle as well as dry hopping. We chose a handful of our favorite classic and new American hops all leaning towards a juicy and fruity profile. The end results in layers (or waves) of hop flavor and aroma while leaving the ‘old school’ signature IPA bitterness largely behind.”

The collaboration consists of two beers, a Wood-Aged Blonde Export on Nitro brewed at Indeed, and a Wood-Aged Rye Bock brewed at Steel Toe. The beers are meant to be imbibed together, as an iteration of a classic Black & Tan, with the order of the beers swapped to be a Tan & Black.
