Saint Arnold Brewing Company, Houston’s foremost craft brewery since 1994, recently added Grand Prize to its year-round beer lineup, reviving a brand that was once the best-selling beer in the Lone Star State.

Two thirds of Texas craft breweries say their businesses will not survive until the end of the year under their state’s current operating restrictions, according to a survey conducted by the Texas Craft Brewers Guild (TCBG).

Saint Arnold Brewing Co. is starting off the year in a big way with Divine Reserve No. 18, an Imperial Stout, with the highest alcohol by volume percentage in brewery history. This beer will be available in six-packs of 12 oz bottles and 22 oz bottles in Texas and Louisiana next week.

In an effort to combat the influence Texas wholesalers wield with local lawmakers, the state’s craft brewers guild has launched its own political action committee, called CraftPAC. In a press release, the Texas Craft Brewers Guild said the goal of CraftPAC would be to overturn “archaic, anti-competitive beer laws” that have “had a chilling effect on the industry’s growth.”
