The 7th Annual Rogue Farms Hop Harvest kicked off in Independence, Oregon, the Historic Hops Capital Of The World yesterday. This year’s harvest began with Rogue Farms Freedom hops. From cutting the bines off the trellises, to picking, separating, sorting, kilning, cooling and baling the cones, it takes at least 24-hours to process one variety of hops.

In a collision of Rogues, Colin Cowherd and Rogue Ales have announced the worldwide debut of Blunt N’ Bitter – the official beverage of Colin Cowherd and The Herd. Blunt N’ Bitter is dedicated to those that dare to speak their mind and is a classic English Special Bitter.

Rogue Ales & Spirits has hired Jim Schembre, the former Monarch Beverage and World Class Beer general manager, as its new vice president of sales. Schembre, who has served on Rogue’s Board of Directors for the last eight years, will immediately replace outgoing Rogue VP Steve Irwin.

Last month, the brewing community lost one its most eccentric entrepreneurs and a pioneer in craft brewing: Jack Joyce, the founder of Oregon-based Rogue Ales. Joyce, who had been living in Hawaii at the time, died suddenly of a heart attack on May 27 at the age of 71.
