Founders Brewing Co. to Release ‘Azacca IPA’

Founders Brewing Co. has announced today that it will introduce Azacca IPA, an IPA using just one, relatively new, experimental hop, as the first seasonal offering of 2016. Azacca IPA is brewed exclusively with Azacca hops, a special variety grown by Yakima-based Roy Farms. Named for the Haitian god of agriculture, the Azacca hop variety is distinguished by intense, tropical fruit notes. Azacca IPA includes a touch of caramel malt to provide a sweet backbone to the citrus, mango and orchard fruit flavors in this 7% ABV beer.

Founders Brewing Releases ‘Project PAM’ Black IPA

Black IPAs have been a staple of an annual tradition at Founders Brewing Co. – the Black Party – a celebration of experimental dark beers. Project PAM was born out of this tradition and is the third Backstage release of 2015; a Black IPA whose hop combinations and malts have been perfected and balanced over several years. This beer is brewed with a cornucopia of hops including Chinook, Nugget, Centennial, Amarillo, El Dorado and Mosaic, balanced with Crystal and Midnight Wheat malts, then aged in maple-bourbon barrels.

Founders Brewing Co. to Release Dirty Bastard in Cans

For the first time, Founders Brewing Co. will release its Scotch ale, Dirty Bastard, in a 12-pack of 12 oz. cans, labeled as the “Dirty Dozen”. Dirty Bastard is one of the original beers made by Founders Brewing Co., saving them from the brink of bankruptcy and putting the brewery at the forefront of the extreme beer movement. The popular year-round Scotch ale is dark ruby in color and brewed with seven varieties of imported malts. It is complex in its finish, with hints of smoke and peat, paired with a malty richness and a right hook of hop power to give it the bad attitude worthy of its name.
