Tampa Bay Brewing Expands Florida Distribution Footprint, Refreshes Branding

Tampa Bay Brewing Co. (TBBC), one of Florida’s oldest independent craft breweries, announced today that 2017 sales increased by more than 27% over the year previous, buoyed significantly by growing demand for their flagship Reef Donkey APA, Old Elephant Foot IPA, and a series of seasonal beers.

Voodoo Brewery Expands Distribution to Florida

Voodoo Brewery Co. has announced expanded distribution plans, partnering with Cavalier Distributing as their distributor the state of Florida. Beginning the week of March 5, Cavalier will distribute draught and package versions of Voodoo’s flagship beers including Hoodoo IPA, Voodoo Love Child Belgian-Style Ale, White Magick of the Sun White Ale, Wyonna’s Big Brown Ale, and Variety 12-packs, as well as seasonal and limited releases as they are available to Tampa and south Florida.

The transaction, which is set to close on March 31, will add approximately 3 million cases to a multi-state Columbia business that surpassed 62 million cases in 2016.

Report: US Beer Makers Shipped 3.8 Million Fewer Barrels in 2017

2017 was historically bad for U.S. brewers, who shipped 3.8 million fewer barrels of beer than the previous year, according to the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau’s (TTB) unofficial estimate of domestic tax paid shipments. According to industry trade association the Beer Institute (BI) — which represents the interests of all brewers and importers and publishes the TTB’s monthly estimates — U.S. beer companies shipped about 170 million barrels of beer in 2017, compared to nearly 174 million barrels in 2016.
