Goose Island to Debut 10 oz. Bottles of Bourbon County Brand Original Stout

There’s a big change coming to this year’s Bourbon County Brand Stout (BCBS) release: It’s getting smaller.

Goose Island will package Original BCBS in 4-packs of 10 oz. bottles, while the to-be-announced remainder of this year’s lineup will be available in the brand’s signature 16.9 oz. glass bottles.

“While the recipe remains unchanged, the new format reflects a shift in occasion – ideal for side-by-side tastings with the rest of the lineup or simply enjoying on its own,” Goose Island said in a press release. “The 4-pack gives drinkers more opportunities to experience the beer that started it all.”

The barrel-aged stout collection will be released on Friday, November 28, the day after Thanksgiving. Goose Island, which Anheuser-Busch InBev acquired in 2011, has maintained its tradition of launching the BCBS family on Black Friday since 2008.

In addition to Original BCBS, which is generally regarded as the first stout aged in bourbon barrels, Goose Island releases a handful of variants with different flavors or conditioning processes.
