Wild Tide Launches in San Diego with a Flavor-Forward Take on Hard Ginger Beer

Wild Tide, a new hard ginger beer brand, is entering the San Diego market with a lineup of flavor-forward, gluten-free beverages made with real organic ginger juice, natural fruit juices, and a neutralized orange wine base—offering consumers a refreshing alternative to traditional hard seltzers, canned cocktails, and beer.

Crafted at 5% ABV and designed for easy drinking, Wild Tide delivers a bold yet approachable experience rooted in real organic ginger juice, natural fruit juices, balanced flavor, and significantly less sugar than many traditional ginger beers. The launch lineup includes Original Ginger Lime, a bright and balanced take on the classic ginger beer profile; Grapefruit Jalapeño, which delivers tart citrus and a kick of heat; and Pineapple Passionfruit, a tropical-inspired offering layered with fruit-forward flavor.

While ginger beer has long been a staple behind the bar, hard ginger beer remains a relatively untapped category within beverage alcohol. Setting Wild Tide apart from traditional RTDs is its orange wine base, a unique foundation within the RTD space that complements the bright citrus and ginger notes found throughout the lineup. While the alcohol is derived from oranges, the beverage itself does not taste like orange wine. Instead, the base serves as a clean, refreshing canvas that allows the real ginger and fruit flavors to shine—creating a flavor-forward hard ginger beer unlike traditional hard seltzers, canned cocktails, or beer.

“I wanted something refreshing and bolder-tasting that felt closer to a special cocktail than to water,” said Kelsey Chesterfield, Founder and CEO of Wild Tide. “Beer often left me feeling bloated, hard seltzers lacked flavor, and many canned cocktails were too sweet. We created Wild Tide to offer a more refreshing, flavor-forward option that people can enjoy at the beach, a backyard BBQ, or wherever they gather with friends.”

Founded by Kelsey Chesterfield, a second-generation beverage entrepreneur, Wild Tide was developed to fill a gap in the RTD market for consumers seeking a more flavorful alternative to traditional options. With more than a decade of experience across beverage marketing and growth, Chesterfield created Wild Tide to introduce a new approach to hard ginger beer.

Inspired by Southern California’s beach culture, Wild Tide was created to introduce consumers to a new take on hard ginger beer—one rooted in real ingredients, bold flavor, and easy drinkability. As the brand enters the San Diego market, Wild Tide is helping introduce hard ginger beer to a new generation of consumers seeking more flavor, balance, and drinkability from their beverages.

About Wild Tide

Founded by San Diego entrepreneur Kelsey Chesterfield, Wild Tide is a woman-owned beverage company crafting naturally gluten-free, 5% ABV hard ginger beers made with real organic ginger juice, natural fruit juices, and a neutralized orange wine base. Created for consumers seeking a more flavorful alternative to traditional hard seltzers, canned cocktails, and beer, Wild Tide delivers a refreshing, bold drinking experience inspired by Southern California’s coastal lifestyle. As the brand grows, Wild Tide envisions supporting organizations dedicated to protecting and preserving marine environments.
