Craft Brew Alliance (CBA) has announced preliminary 2015 earnings results, highlighting a net sales increase of just 2 percent over the year prior. Total shipments declined 1 percent in 2015, the company said. Net sales grew 4 percent in the fourth quarter, up $1.8 million, according to a statement. Total depletions, meanwhile, declined about 1 percent despite gains from a Kona line that was up 27 percent in the quarter.
Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom, a traditional casual dining restaurant known for its expansive selection of craft beers, announced today it has partnered with Odell Brewing Company for its February Explorer Series, which begins on February 10. Old Chicago’s Explorer Series launched last year, with each installment offering selections from a featured brewing company and a collaboration beer that captures the most unique flavors in the craft beer world.

Short’s Brewing Company of Bellaire, MI and Funky Buddha Brewery of Oakland Park, FL will be making history this weekend at the sold out Extreme Beer Fest event in Boston, February 5th and 6th. The breweries have worked together to create a beer, named Tip ta Tip, that was inspired by an Old Fashioned, each one creating a component of the cocktail-inspired brew. The two will be combined for the first time on-site at Extreme Beer Fest.

When Boulevard opened its doors in 1989 it began welcoming those interested in touring its brewery and tasting its beers. For years the company offered just one tour a week, often attracting 15 or 20 people. As the company grew in size and stature, so too did demand for its tours, recently ranked by national publications as among the best in the country. In 2015, Boulevard hosted almost 60,000 visitors on some 2,300 tours, turning away thousands more due to lack of space.

Brew Bus, a Tampa-based brewery tour operator, today announced its purchase of Florida Avenue Brewing for an undisclosed sum. First revealed last December, the deal includes the Florida Avenue brewery and tasting room in Seminole Heights, a space Brew Bus is spending about $250,000 to renovate. Upon completion, the location will also serve as a base camp for Brew Bus brewery tours in Tampa.
Based in Fort Collins, Odell Brewing has, on average, grown production about 12.5 percent each year since it opened. The company, which sold about 110,000 barrels across 11 states in 2015, still maintains a set of core objectives that help it succeed at home and away: grow slow and don’t overreach. In 2016, however, Odell plans to press more firmly on the accelerator, projecting 21 percent volume gains and 23 percent revenue growth.
