Wormtown Brewery Expands Distribution to New Hampshire

WORCESTER, Mass. – Wormtown Brewery, 72 Shrewsbury St, Worcester, MA has announced an expansion of their sales and distribution team. These moves result from the continued strong growth for the brewery and expansion of their packaging and fermentation capabilities as the brewery recently added 7500 bbls of capacity and installed a new CFT can filler.

Beginning on Monday, June 4th , Wormtown has entered into a distribution agreement with Craft Brewer’s Guild of Boston to sell and distribute the award-winning line up of beers in 16 towns of Metro West. Previously the brewery had serviced those towns directly and the business had grown exponentially in the past 20 months.

“We want our focus to be on making great beer. Any resources and effort that takes our attention away from that simply doesn’t fit our goals for the brewery” said co-founder and brew master Ben Roesch.

David Fields, Managing Partner, added “The decision to workwith Craft Brewer’s Guild was an easy one. We have had incredible success with their sister companies and they bring a level of professionalism and service that we simply could not provide on our own.”

According to CBG GM Mike Bernfeld, “The team at Craft Brewers Guild is very excited to partner with Wormtown Brewery in the 16 cities & towns where Wormtown was self-distributing. We look forward to working with the Wormtown team to continue to grow the brewery within this territory”

In other distribution news, the brewery announced that the first beer from Wormtown has been tapped in the state of NH. Bellavance Beverages and New Hampshire Distributors will be bringing Be Hoppy draught and the summer seasonal, Citrus & Sunshine to the Granite State. According to David Fields, “NH was our original target to be the first state we opened outside of MA in ‘15. Fortunately for us we continued to run out of capacity to support our home state. We are very excited to partner with two great distributors and share our beer north of the state line!”

Finally, to help manage these new sales and distribution relationships the brewery has announced the hiring of David Norkus as their General Sales Manager. Norkus will oversee the strategic planning and execution of the brewery’s selling efforts. An 11-year veteran of the MA craft beer seen with both Sierra Nevada and New Belgium, Norkus “brings a level of professionalism, experience and local market knowledge that will make a significant impact on our distributor and retail relationships. I worked with Dave for 9 years, he is a great addition to our team that will help take our efforts to the next level of sales management and execution” according to Fields.
