Winter Park Beer Festival to Return this August

WINTER PARK, Colo. — Colorado’s “homegrown” brew fest, the Winter Park Beer Festival, returns to Hideaway Park on Saturday, Aug. 9. This fifth annual event features unlimited beer tasting, live music and a quintessential grassroots festival atmosphere, while also tying in beer seminars, home brewers and cicerones to appeal to the true aficionado.

“The Winter Park Beer Festival continues to delight attendees each year in the beautiful setting of Hideaway Park in downtown Winter Park,” said Jen Radueg, Radiate Live Events director. “In the fifth year of this event we’re focusing on Colorado and all of the wonderful things to do here with a “homegrown” theme. With Colorado bands, several Colorado brews and Colorado food and vendors, this will be a don’t-miss summer event.”

The festival’s main draw – unlimited beer tasting from over 30 microbrewers, 24 of which are based in Colorado – takes place from 12 to 5 p.m. and features sample suds ranging from classic favorites to new finds. Confirmed participating breweries include: Alaskan Brewing Company; Boulder Beer Company; Breckenridge Brewery; Bristol Brewing Company; Copper Kettle Brewing Company; Crazy Mountain Brewery; Deschutes Brewery; Elevation Beer Co.; FATE Brewing Company; Fort Collins Brewery; Grand Lake Brewing Company; Kokopelli Beer Company; New Belgium Brewing Company; Odell Brewing Company; Oskar Blues Brewery; Renegade Brewing Company; San Luis Valley Brewing Company; Sierra Nevada; Strange Brewing Company; Tivoli Brewing Company; and Wynkoop Brewing Company.

Event entertainment, taking place from 12 to 5 p.m., includes live music from Colorado-based bands, including The Samples, Whitewater Ramble, and Missed the Boat.

In addition to suds sampling and live music throughout the day, the Winter Park Beer Festival also includes food and retail vendors in Hideaway Park.

“The Winter Park Beer Festival has become a highlight of the summer season,” said Catherine Ross, executive director of the Winter Park & Fraser Chamber. “This year promises to be the best yet with additional brewers and an expanded venue set up. Add a bike ride or a round of golf and you have a great way to spend a weekend in the mountains.”

Ticket options vary and include: Unlimited Tasting tickets ($30 pre-sale; $40 day-of) including event entrance and a five-ounce commemorative tasting cup; VIP Access tickets ($70 pre-sale; $85 day-of) including event entrance, a commemorative glass mug, a VIP area featuring a lunch buffet, full-size pours, and a selection of exclusive brews to taste; VIP Designated Driver Access ($30 pre-sale; $40 day-of, if available) including all VIP options except unlimited tastings and beer mug.
