Widmer Brothers Unveils Fall Brothers’ Reserve Beer

Widmer Brothers Lemongrass WheatPORTLAND, OR – Widmer Brothers Brewing has released Lemongrass Wheat Ale. The limited-edition beer is the fifth to be released in the brewery’s Brothers’ Reserve series, which showcases the brewers’ commitment to innovation and creativity in craft brewing. The one-time Lemongrass Wheat Ale release is available in very limited quantities on draught and in 22-ounce bottles at select retailers nationwide.

“We are very excited to release Lemongrass Wheat Ale in our Brothers’ Reserve series,” said Rob Widmer, brother and co-founder of Widmer Brothers Brewing. “The use of Muscat grapes and lemongrass brings out distinct fruit tones that are balanced by the grains. It’s truly a unique ale that blurs the line between craft beer and wine.”

About Lemongrass Wheat Ale

Lemongrass Wheat Ale is brewed with a combination of malts and Muscat grapes. This unique mixture gives the beer a traditional malt backbone with hints of late harvest grape sweetness. Lemongrass is added during fermentation and conditioning, lending a distinct lemon flavor and aroma. To maximize the Muscat contribution, Champagne yeast was used for primary fermentation, while ale yeast was added during secondary fermentation. The two yeasts worked in tandem to produce a crisp and fruity profile. Alchemy and crystal hops are added for balance and complement the citrus and underlying earthy, spicy notes of the beer.
