BOSTON — Truly Spiked & Sparkling today announced the launch of its newest style, Truly Spiked & Sparkling Lemon & Yuzu, now available nationwide. Truly Spiked & Sparkling has caught fire amongst drinkers and has quickly become the go-to spiked sparkling water, a category poised to be this spring and summer’s biggest alcohol trend.

Truly Spiked & Sparkling is a clean, refreshing alternative to wine, beer and cocktails, and offers many of the attributes health-conscious drinkers look for today at just 100 calories, 1 gram of sugars, 5 percent ABV, and is naturally gluten free.

New Truly Spiked & Sparkling Lemon & Yuzu features a Japanese fruit called yuzu, which has been trending in the U.S. culinary scene. Yuzu is known for its refreshing taste, distinct aroma and a subtle tartness that isn’t found in other citrus fruits. Truly Spiked & Sparkling Lemon & Yuzu combines this unique flavor with the more familiar lemon for an overall bright, refreshing and citrusy drink.

“I’m constantly looking for flavor inspiration in food and cocktails, and the yuzu fruit’s distinctly tart flavor profile has always intrigued me,” said Casey O’Neill, a member of the innovation team behind Truly Spiked & Sparkling. “When I started experimenting with ingredients for our newest style, I knew it was time to bring yuzu into the mix, since its unique qualities are a perfect fit for Truly Spiked & Sparkling which is known for its light, refreshing taste with just the right amount of sweetness.”

Yuzu’s unique properties and versatility boast a variety of uses making it a popular choice among food and beverage enthusiasts. Some fun facts about this trending fruit: a yuzu contains three times more vitamin C than a lemon1; its fragrance is known to promote relaxation2; and naturally, makes a great addition to cocktails to help sweeten them while not overpowering.

Spiked sparkling waters like Truly Spiked & Sparkling satisfy the desire for a refreshing drink without the added sugar, calories, or artificial sweeteners, and gives Americans the options they seek for a well-balanced lifestyle without impeding on their wellness regimen. A survey commissioned by Truly Spiked & Sparkling and conducted online by Harris Poll revealed that nearly five in 10 (45%) drinkers agreed that following a wellness routine makes it hard to be social because events often revolve around unhealthy food and drink.

The new Lemon & Yuzu style is part of Truly Spiked & Sparkling’s growing line of spiked beverages, including Colima Lime, Grapefruit & Pomelo, Pomegranate, and Sicilian Blood Orange.

Truly Spiked & Sparkling Lemon & Yuzu will be available nationally in packs of six 12-ounce bottles for a suggested retail price of $9.99. (All prices vary by location).
