Tennessee Brew Works Collaborates with City Winery Nashville on Belgian Strong Ale

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee Brew Works, the Nashville, Tennessee based brewer of the Southern Wit, 1927 IPA, State Park Blonde, Extra Easy, Basil Ryeman and Walk the Lime announces the release of the 2018 Limited Edition Belgian Strong Ale aged in City Winery 2015 Vintage Pinot Noir barrels. The newest release, 22oz wax-dipped bottles, will be available at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 13, at the Tennessee Brew Works’ Taproom at 809 Ewing Ave, Nashville. Please limit 2 per customer.

Known for the culinary-minded craft beer creations, often sourcing from brewer and chef collaborations, Tennessee Brew Works has developed a reputation in beer, food and wine circles. The brewery is located in downtown Nashville, just a few doors down from City Winery’s onsite winery, restaurant and venue. Additionally, the Tennessee Brew Works taproom offers two of City Winery’s Nashville-inspired wines made at the downtown urban winery on their tap wall at all times.

The Belgian Strong Ale, aged in City Winery Pinot Noir Barrels has ABV: 8%, IBU: 30, and is a malt-forward Belgian Strong Ale with aromas and flavors of fig, plum, apricot and tart cherry, followed by a subtle dry oak finish. As the beer matures, beer and wine lovers will experience an evolution of wonderful stone fruit and red berry flavors.

“As the only working winery in downtown, Nashville, City Winery has the unique opportunity to collaborate with our friendly neighbors, like Tennessee Brew Works, through the art of winemaking. For a second year in a row, we’re proud to have partnered with our Pie Town friends for a delicious beer using our 2015 Music City Pinot Noir barrels. This specific wine was awarded 92 points & Gold Medal ‘Exceptional’ Rating by Tastings.com and is incredibly aromatic with a strong violet and floral aroma. The subtle tannin structure offers delicious texture and a smooth finish with bursts of strawberry and blackberry. Once again, we’re proud to work with the talented brewmasters at Tennessee Brew Work,” said City Winery Nashville Local Winemaker Bill Anton.

“City Winery has been a wonderful neighbor and we’re always grateful for opportunities to partner with them,” said Tennessee Brew Works Founder and President Christian Spears. “This beer combines some of the best work of our two organizations and we’re proud to have our name it.”

This beer will be available at the Tennessee Brew Works Taproom, City Winery Nashville and limited outside retail locations.
