Tampa Bay Brewing Announces Refreshed Branding, New Can Designs and Hop Silo Series

TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Bay Brewing Co. (TBBC), one of Florida’s oldest independent craft breweries, introduced today a refreshed corporate logo and refined designs for all packaged brands including: Reef Donkey, Old Elephant Foot, and seasonal releases. Furthermore, TBBC unveiled their new “Hop Silo” series, a limited release collection of hop-centric beers, the first of which to be released is an Imperial Pilsner brewed in collaboration with Cigar City Brewing Co.

“Like most mature organizations, our brand identity has slowly morphed over time and was due for a more significant refresh to better reflect our spirit and uncorporate culture. Furthermore, both internally and on the street people have been referring to us as TBBC for years, versus our full name.  This was a rare opportunity to embrace the community-given nickname in a manner that was not confusing to our long-standing customers,” said David Doble, managing partner.

The refreshed corporate logo will begin to be used immediately on all TBBC packaged products, marketing materials, merchandise, and at the company’s Ybor City and Westchase breweries and pubs. “The complete transition will not happen overnight, as there is over twenty years of history and identity associated with our company,” remarked Larry Costigan, Creative Director. “However, we’ve been planning this change for over a year and are excited to finally see it roll-out in an impactful way, and just in time for Tampa Bay Beer Week.”

Consumers got a taste for the forthcoming design changes last month with the release of a refreshed Old Elephant Foot IPA can, and can expect to see a similar refresh to Reef Donkey and seasonal releases such as Last Days of Summer, Florida Tart, Gourds Gone Wild, and Gingy.

“One of the first cans to release with the new branding will be Hop Silo #1 an Imperial Pilsner brewed in collaboration with Cigar City, ” said Doble. “This new series, which will include three unique styles of beers that celebrate the creative use of hops, will release quarterly in limited case quantities and be available via distribution. Hop Silo #2, will be brewed during Beer Week in collaboration with Pipeworks Brewing Co. of Chicago, and #3 will be a New England Style IPA.”

Distributors, accounts, and other TBBC marketing partners will be receiving the new logos and identity guidelines in the coming days, and are encouraged to update their databases and materials.
