Savannah, GA — Service Brewing Company (SBC), a veteran-owned and operated brewery has announced their fall 2015 charity, The Raider Project. The Raider Project is a non-profit organization that connects MARSOC/USMC combat veterans with other veterans to help them transition smoothly, peacefully, and successfully into the private sector.

Each season, SBC chooses a military charity to give back to with proceeds from events and fundraising, “It’s important for us to not only support but raise awareness for these amazing charities that help active military members and veterans alike,” said CEO and former Army Commander, Kevin Ryan.

The first fundraiser for The Raider Project will be their Oktoberfest Kickoff, taking place Saturday, September 19th, the official start of Germany’s largest beer festival, from 11:30a.m. – 5:00p.m. at Service Brewing.

The Oktoberfest Kickoff will also be the release of their fall seasonal, Teufel Hunden, an Oktoberfest-style Märzen. This classic German lager holds a deep copper hue, a toasted malt aroma and a clean dry finish and will be a limited release brew in celebration of the upcoming fall season.

The Teufel Hunden name originates from the military folklore of the WWI Marine soldiers. The fortitude and ferocity shown by Marines earned them a fearsome nickname by their German counterparts: Teufel Hunden, or “Devil Dogs.” That savage sobriquet has stuck around to inspire new generations of soldiers towards honor and tenacity.

During the event, CEO, Kevin Ryan, will man the grill serving his infamous brats and sauerkraut for donations to go towards The Raider Project. Other highlights for the evening will include DJ Jose Ray spinning vinyl until 5:00p.m. and a raffle of special Service gifts every 30 minutes.

Tours and Tasting packages start at $12 for 36oz of beer. Visit the SBC website for more information about Tours & Tasting Room packages at www.servicebrewing.com.
