Schubros Brewery Announces New Subsidiary

SAN RAMON, Calif. — Schubros Brewery, a craft beer company focused on creating a bold epicurean experience influenced by all the flavors of the world, today announced its expansion to Asia via a new Subsidiary, San Francisco East Bay Brewing Company (SFEBB) Inc.

Schubros, run by CEO Ian Schuster who previously ran portfolio sales operations for Philip Morris Japan, currently exports a large percent of its beers to China. However, with the launch of SFEBB, the company will focus on rapidly increasing these exports, and expand distribution to Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam and India. As part of this initiative, SFEBB also plans to launch beers created especially for the Asia Pacific market, featuring unique Southeast Asian fruit-infused IPAs. The first of these beers, a Kiwifruit IPA has already been released, and a Dragonfruit, Passionfruit, and Lycheefruit IPA is due in early December. The company also has plans to build a production brewery and taproom in Tianjin, China.

“We look forward to creating American craft beer with a distinctive Asian flair, fusing our IPAs with Kiwi, Dragonfruit, Passionfruit, Lychee and Mango, melding classic craft with the style, taste and gastronomy of the region,” said Ian Schuster, CEO, and founder of Schubros Brewery. “The Asian craft market is wide open, with China having a market the size of Germany, the U.S. and Brazil combined and India experiencing 20 percent year-over-year growth, for example. We are excited to be at the forefront of this growing Asian premium beer market.”

To fund the new Asian subsidiary and expansion, Schubros Brewery has undertaken an equity crowdfunding campaign through a crowdfunding intermediary, Wefunder, with a goal of raising a total of $1.07 million. Currently, there are already 117 initial investors whose investments total just over $123,000. The campaign runs through February 2018 and offers a unique opportunity to invest in the rapidly growing, yet still relatively untapped, Asia Pacific craft beer market.

According to a recently released report by Transparency Market Research, the value of the Asia Pacific beer market will reach $220.3 billion by the end of 2020.

“It’s been a half-decade since I began championing the benefits of crowdfunding for investors and businesses, and worked with the SBA and a few Congressmen and Senators to advance the concept (that later became part of the JOBS act of 2012),” added Schuster. “Now with San Francisco East Bay Brewing Company, we’ve come full-circle and are excited to be able to offer an opportunity to invest in the Asia Pacific craft beer market.”
