Position Summary

Wilding Brands is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Packaging Technician to join our production team. This role is responsible for operating, cleaning, and maintaining canning and kegging equipment to ensure high-quality packaged beer. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, values quality and safety, and takes pride in producing consistent, top-tier products.


Key Responsibilities

Canning Operations

  • Operate and monitor canning line equipment (filler, seamer, cartoner, date coder, tray packer, keg washer, and keg filling)
  • Perform quality checks including fill levels, seam integrity, DO (dissolved oxygen), and carbonation
  • Stage materials (cans, lids, trays, cartons, keg collars, keg caps)
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and escalate when needed
  • Seam check cans periodically during each run.
  • Weigh and perform DO checks with Anton Paar.


Kegging Operations

  • Clean, inspect, and fill kegs using aseptic techniques to the proper weights
  • Perform keg washing/CIP processes and verify sanitation standards
  • Inspect kegs for defects and ensure proper labeling and tracking


Sanitation & CIP

  • Execute cleaning procedures for fillers, lines, and associated equipment
  • Follow SOPs for caustic, acid, and sanitizer (PAA) usage
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety and cleanliness standards
  • Demonstrate proper sanitary technique for cleaning of all equipment to prevent microscopic contamination.


Quality & Compliance

  • Follow all QA/QC protocols to ensure product integrity
  • Accurately complete batch records, packaging logs, and downtime reports
  • Comply with OSHA and brewery safety standards


General Duties

  • Assist with changeovers between brands and package formats
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace (5S principles)
  • Support preventative maintenance activities
  • Work collaboratively with brewing, cellaring, and warehouse teams


Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability


Preferred

  • Previous experience in beverage manufacturing or brewery packaging
  • Experience with canning lines and/or keg washers/fillers
  • Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, and food safety standards
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)


Work Environment

  • Wet, cold, and fast-paced production environment
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and pressurized systems
  • Flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed
