Reyes Beer Division to Expand California Operations with New Facilities

Reyes Beer Division is expanding its Southern California operations with plans to add two new warehouses for its Gate City Beverage and Harbor Distributing subsidiaries.

Reyes, the nation’s largest beer wholesaler, said deliveries from Gate City’s new 200,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Moreno Valley are expected to begin in April 2021.

Gate City, which Reyes acquired in 2007, sells more than 20 million cases a year to more than 3,600 customers in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, according to the distributor’s website.

Meanwhile, Reyes has signed a lease on a new 290,000 sq. ft. facility for Harbor Distributing in Gardena that will replace its 1970s-era 150,000 sq. ft. warehouse, as of Q4 2021.

Harbor also operates a 400,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Huntington Beach and a facility in Santa Fe Springs. Harbor’s operations’ service 11,800 customers, selling 39 million cases annually in a territory that stretches from Malibu in Los Angeles County to San Clemente in Orange County.

The addition of a new warehouse in Moreno Valley will bring Reyes’ total number of California facilities to 24.

“Through the hard work and dedication of our team, we have seen tremendous business growth and success,” Tom Reyes, president of Reyes Beer Division West, said in a press release. “My family has always believed in reinvesting back into our business and people to provide improved resources for our employees, customers, partners and consumers. We are very fortunate to be in this position and we look forward to adding these new, state-of-the-art facilities to our operations in California.”

Reyes has added to its business this year via a handful of acquisitions, including Saccani Distributing Company, in Sacramento; Bay Area Beverage Company in Richmond; and Elyxir Distributing in Watsonville.

Reyes has bolstered its portfolio in California over the last two years by adding to popular Mexican imports offerings from Constellation Brands to its portfolio, as well as offerings from New Belgium and Diageo this year to the books of its various subsidiaries.
