Oggi’s Brewhouse Launches 2 Fruit-Forward Beers

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. — Oggi’s Sports | Brewhouse | Pizza, the concept that has defined craft brewing, fresh pizza, and brewpub favorites in a sports-themed atmosphere for the past 27 years, has added two new permanent beers to the rotation: POG Project, a blonde ale and Easy Obsession, a session IPA. These new releases join a stellar line-up of Oggi’s award-winning craft beers including the McGarvey’s Scottish Ale (Gold Medal at LA International Beer Competition 2017 and Silver Medal at Great American Beer Festival 2017) and Black Magic Stout (Silver Medal at LA International Beer Competition 2016 and Silver Medal at SD International Beer Competition 2015). POG Project and Easy Obsession, available on-tap year-round at all Oggi’s locations, are the first original beers to launch at Oggi’s since the City by the Sea, an American pale ale that launched in November 2017.

Oggi’s new beers offer unique flavor profiles, different from any other products in the craft brew portfolio. Tasting notes feature:

POG Project: This craft beer project creatively balances all-natural whole fruit (fresh puree from passion fruit, blood orange, and guava) with a light bodied crisp beer, resulting in a perfectly infused blonde ale. 4.5% ABV / 13.9 IBU

Pairs with: Bruschetta Flatbread, which is brushed with garlic olive oil, topped with mozzarella, bruschetta mix, fresh basil, shredded Parmesan, and balsamic glaze

Easy Obsession: a session IPA with an enhanced grapefruit flavor profile, complemented by essence of pine and citrus, all while keeping a refreshing, lighter body. 4.5% ABV / 41 IBU

Pairs with: Mediterranean Delight Salad – a spring mix blend topped with herb marinated all-natural chicken breast, garbanzo beans, sliced cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, red onions, Kalamata olives, Feta cheese, and roasted red peppers, tossed in Oggi’s homemade lemon and herb Greek dressing, and finished with oregano.

“We have been researching and developing these two new brews for months,” said Tommy Hadjis General Manager of the brewery. “Our goal with these was to hit the perfect balance of fruitiness, while staying true to our signature Oggi’s brew-style. We’re really proud of what the final products are, and feel confident that they will earn awards at upcoming beer competitions, like our other offerings – Oggi’s beers have won over 60 medals and awards. The new releases pair perfectly with a number of Executive Chef Jason Tsiames’ menu items. We worked together as a team to debut the new beers along with some new mainstay menu offerings.”

The beer launch coincides with a franchise-wide menu revamp, beginning with four new menu items:

Baecation Burger: half-pound beef patty topped with cheddar cheese, applewood smoked bacon, crispy fried jalapeno, sliced tomato, arugula, charred bacon, and bacon aioli on a brioche bun. Pairs with: Hoppily Ever After IPA

Southwestern Kale Salad: thinly sliced kale and cabbage tossed in Oggi’s housemade spicy lime Greek yogurt dressing, topped with pico de gallo, roasted corn, black beans, avocado, crispy fried jalapenos, and feta cheese. Pairs with: City by the Sea Pale Ale

Truffle Mushroom Swiss Burger: half-pound beef patty topped with swiss cheese, marinated portobello and button mushrooms, sliced tomato, arugula, and truffle bacon aioli on a brioche bun. Pairs with: McGarvey’s Scottish Ale

Oggi’s Chicken Banh Mi Sandwich: sesame soy marinated chicken topped with pickled onion, carrot, and radish, fresh cucumber, cilantro, and jalapeno, finished with sriracha aioli and a squeeze of lime on a toasted hoagie roll. Pairs with California Gold Cream Ale

The new beers will be available at all Oggi’s locations, with select locations offering the new menu items, beginning winter 2018.
