Arvada, CO — Odyssey Beerwerks, who opened in May of 2013, announced today that it has named Joe Savage, previously of Hangar 24 Craft Brewery, as new head brewer.

Odyssey, known for such beers as Ghost Drifter Pale Ale, Heliocentric Hefeweizen, and Psycho Penguin Vanilla Porter, and currently canning five core beers plus seasonals, seeks to expand brewery operations. “Given the rise of craft breweries here in Colorado and across the country, we need to step up our game with regard to consistency in brewing, innovative brews, and keeping up with and increasing production” said Chris Hill, Odyssey Co-Owner.

Savage began his professional brewing career at Old Dominion in Virginia before moving to Redlands, California and signing on with Hangar 24 as Production Manager and Lead Brewer. Savage helped Hanger 24 grow from a start-up brewery to a Regional Craft Brewery (classified as producing between 15,000 and 6,000,000 barrels a year) in the span of a few years.

Said Hill, “Joe has the experience of taking a small brewery through a significant period of sustained growth. I’m proud of where we are now, after two plus years in business, and we’re committed to brewing consistent, quality beer as we continue to expand. And Joe is just the man to help us do that.”
