No-Li’s Crystal Bitter Featured in Esquire’s 2012 NFL Beer Bible

SPOKANE, WA – Tonight is the kick-off to the 2012 NFL season. In honor of America’s favorite pastime, Esquire Magazine’s Evan S. Benn paired all 32 teams with local craft brews. Seattle Seahawks and No-Li Crystal Bitter, of course!

This fun football-time article also recognizes that great craft beer deserves great food, and offers a few mouthwatering dish pairings, too, by Benn’s friend Sean Z. Paxton, known as the Homebrew Chef.

Of No-Li, Been says: “Many Seahawks fans on the east side of Washington State are rejoicing thanks to the rebirth of Spokane’s Northern Lights Brewing Co., which in April was renamed No-Li Brewhouse and is producing exceptional beers. My favorite is Crystal Bitter, an ale that encompasses English, German, and American brewing styles. Try it with panko-crusted razor clams that you’ve pan-fried to a golden amber color, which Paxton recommends serving with orange-and-kimchi aioli.”

No-Li co-founder Mark Irvin, sees a new opportunity for the brewhouse. “Perhaps Chef Lane at No-Li Brewhouse will be inspired to add panko-crusted razor clams to our menu just in time for this weekend!” he said.
