ALEXANDRIA, VA – National Beer Wholesalers Association President & CEO Craig Purser today announced the promotion of Dave Christman to vice president, state affairs.

Christman joined NBWA in 2001 and has served in a variety of positions for the association. Most recently, he served as senior director, state and industry Affairs. In that role, he strengthened relations with state associations; expanded relationships with state legislative leaders; and increased NBWA’s visibility in national organizations of state officials, including being elected in 2015 to serve as a national officer of the State Government Affairs Council. Christman also increased NBWA’s participation in the technology arena, including taking a leading role with the Beer Industry Electronic Commerce Coalition (BIECC) and establishing the association’s partnership with Fintech.

Previously, Christman served as NBWA’s manager of grassroots and political affairs. He was responsible for the day-to-day management of the National Beer Wholesalers Association Political Action Committee (NBWA PAC) and served as the chief communicator of grassroots messages between NBWA and its membership.

“Over Dave’s years at NBWA, he has proven to be a tireless advocate for beer distributors and state-based alcohol regulation,” said Purser. “Dave is an asset to the association, and this promotion recognizes his leadership and contributions to America’s independent beer distributors.”
