Mayflower Brewing Company to Release Standish

Plymouth, MA – Mayflower Brewing Company, America’s Hometown brewery, is pleased to announce the release of a new beer called “Standish” starting next week. Standish is an Imperial Stout and is the fourth of the brewery’s new line of limited-edition, Cooper’s Series beers that are available in kegs and 4-packs.

“We started packaging these limited batch beers a year ago, and have received terrific support for them from our customers”. says
Drew Brosseau, founder and President. “Celebrating the history that inspires our brand, this beer pays tribute to Myles Standish, an English military officer who was hired by the Pilgrims as a military advisor for the Colony and played a leading role in the administration and defense of the Colony from its inception.”

The company has brewed just 100 barrels of Standish, which will yield roughly 800 cases and 100 kegs. The beer will be available to customers starting next week, with a multi-week rollout planned throughout New England.

“Standish is an Imperial stout that will warm you from the first crisp nights of autumn through the most frigid days of winter,” says Ryan Gwozdz, Head Brewer. “Brewed with loads of darker malts, the complex profile is dominated by chocolate, roasted flavors, dark fruit, and slight alcohol. An assertive hop profile balances out these sweet malts without being overly bitter. Because of the higher alcohol content of this style, we conditioned Standish for several months to allow any hot alcohol flavors to mellow. Extended aging will continue to smooth and round out these flavors for years to come.”

The company plans to release additional Cooper’s Series beers in coming months.
