Labatt USA Searches for Brewmaster to Lead U.S. Brewery

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Labatt USA announced it will begin a national search for a Brewmaster to lead its first brewery in the U.S. The new brewery, which will open in Buffalo, New York, later this year, will focus on innovation for Labatt. The brewery will be located at 79 Perry, a mixed-use building that is currently under redevelopment by Pegula Sports and Entertainment.

“Establishing a Buffalo-based brewery will create a new era for the brand, and the new Brewmaster will be at the forefront,” said Glen Tibbits, general manager, Labatt USA. “We’re looking for a passionate brewer who is experienced in innovation and excited about creating more ways for people to experience Labatt beer.”

The Labatt Brewmaster will experiment and develop new beer styles in the pilot brewery. Customers will have the opportunity to taste and give feedback on the beers, influencing what styles Labatt rolls out more broadly throughout its U.S. footprint.

About The Labatt USA Brewmaster

The Brewmaster will have approximately 10 years of experience brewing beer and experience drinking, sampling, experimenting, refining and enjoying beer along the way.The Brewmaster will oversee brewing operations in the pilot brewery, including selecting ingredients, creating recipes and managing brewing production and quality assurance. The John Labatt Project, or the Labatt USA Pilot Brewery, is the main attraction at 79 Perry. The more than 70,000-square-foot building, constructed in 1919 as a manufacturing plant, is currently being redeveloped into a mixed-use facility that includes retail, commercial and residential space. The facility will celebrate the rich heritage of Labatt Beer and the city of Buffalo, and serve as an innovative beer and brewing destination.
