Edinburgh, Scotland – Innis & Gunn, the award-winning Scottish craft brewer, has been awarded four medals in the 2015 International Beer Challenge (IBC).

The brewery’s three year-round beers all won medals in the contest’s Specialty category. Innis & Gunn Rum Finished won a gold medal, Innis & Gunn Original won a silver, and Toasted Oak India Pale Ale earned a bronze.

Innis & Gunn’s Scotch Whisky Porter also won a bronze medal in the IBC’s Specialty category.

Since 2009, Innis & Gunn beers have won 13 medals in the IBC.

“We’re delighted to pick up these awards,” says Innis & Gunn founder Dougal Sharp. “Ultimately we brew beers that we love to drink, but winning awards for their quality is icing on the cake.”

“Over the last 13 years,” Sharp adds, “the quality of our beer has been our first and foremost priority at Innis & Gunn. From our choice of malt and our malting specifications, selecting of hops in the field, to the barrels and oak we use for maturation, every element has to be right.”

Now in its 19th year, this year’s IBC contest judged over 600 beers from over 200 breweries in 30 countries.

The 2015 beer-judging panel included many of the UK’s top beer experts and judges and was led by the esteemed Jeff Evans. Other judges included Adrian Tierney-Jones, Melissa Cole, Glenn Payne, Tim Hampson, Jerry Bartlett and Pete Brown.

Innis & Gunn beers are available in 20+ US states: AL, CT, FL, GA, IL, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, VA, and VT.

In July, Innis & Gunn’s three core beers — Original, Rum Aged and Toasted Oak IPA all won medals in the 2015 U.S. Open Beer Championships. These beers are made with Innis & Gunn’s house ale yeast, aged on various types of oak (including some infused with spirits), then aged at cool lager-like temperatures for an especially smooth body and quaffable character.
