GrowNYC and Brooklyn Brewery Launch Greenmarket Wheat Beer

NEW YORK — On June 19, NYC non-profit GrowNYC and Brooklyn Brewery will announce the launch of Greenmarket Wheat, a collaboration between local farmers, malters and brewers that captures the flavor of regional agriculture in a bottle.

The launch of this truly local beer takes place at Riverpark, a restaurant whose fine dining menu is inspired by the regionally grown food.

Greenmarket Wheat is an innovative partnership between Brooklyn Brewery and GrowNYC (who operates 54 Greenmarket farmers markets), which results from Governor Cuomo’s 2012 Farm Brewery License legislation aimed to expand the growth of craft breweries and increase demand for locally grown products to brew beer.
