Dogfish Head Expands Distribution to South Dakota

MILTON, Del. — Dogfish Head Craft Brewery is excited to announce its collection of off-centered beers is on its way to the great state of South Dakota. Locals can look for Dogfish on shelves and taps beginning mid-May. The Delaware-based craft brewery partnered with Johnson Brothers to bring Dogfish Head’s full portfolio of flavorful ales to residents throughout the state of South Dakota, taking the company’s total market distribution to 42 states and Washington, D.C.

Committed to consistently delivering goodness to its fans, Dogfish Head strategized and laid the groundwork for a forward-looking growth plan for South Dakota and beyond. The brewery enjoyed explosive double digit growth in 2017 and tripled the size of its sales team to further support its existing distribution partners across the nation. Along with its diverse and innovative portfolio of craft beers, Dogfish redesigned its artwork, revamped its packaging, introduced cans to the mix, and announced a 2018 artist collaboration with Marq Spusta for the Off-Centered Art Series.

“We’re excited to ship our innovative beers to Dogfish fans in South Dakota and to begin a great and long-lasting relationship with the beer drinkers, retailers, and distributor partners in the state,” said Sam Calagione, founder and CEO of Dogfish Head Craft Brewery. “We currently partner with Johnson Brothers in Iowa and Nebraska and we’re excited to expand our relationship into South Dakota. We have our canning and bottling lines pumping out a ton of beer and enough brewing capacity to ensure we can keep retailers well stocked with our well-differentiated family of beers for years to come.”

“We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Dogfish Head into South Dakota,” said Todd Johnson, COO of Johnson Brothers. “This is a great day for beer lovers in South Dakota. We are proud to represent their innovative portfolio of beer that reflects the care and quality of their brewing methods as well as their amazing company spirit.”

Dogfish fans in South Dakota can expect to see all of the brewery’s iconic, fan-favorites, including 60 Minute IPA, SeaQuench Ale, Flesh & Blood IPA, Namaste White, 90 Minute IPA, Indian Brown, Lupu-Luau IPA, Palo Santo Marron, Burton Baton, Midas Touch and Off-Centered Art Series releases. Limited quantities of occasional rarities will also be available throughout the year.

Dogfish Head Brews and South Dakota Chews

For those craving a bite with their Dogfish Head beers, the brewery suggests pairing these off-centered pints with some well-known South Dakota dishes.

Try a 60 Minute IPA with fry bread tacos. The beer’s assertive hops complement the spiciness of the picante sauce in the dish.

The piney hop profile of 90 Minute IPA pairs perfectly with the garlic salt-based seasonings used in Chislic. Be sure to give this combo a go!

Next time you have some Kuchen, grab a Namaste White. Its citrusy, orange and lemongrass flavors beautifully accentuate the custard-filled cake’s fruit topping.
