Normal, IL – DESTIHL Brewery officially announced today that it will expand distribution of its beers in Little Rock and parts of Northwest Arkansas beginning June 12, 2017.
In late March, DESTIHL opened a new 47,000sq.ft. production facility in Normal, Illinois. DESTIHL broke ground on the project in June 2016. “In building this new facility, we have reaffirmed our focus on continued expansion and growth. This production system is truly enabling us to produce more, higher quality beer more efficiently”, said Founder, CEO and Brewmaster, Matt Potts. “We’re happy to work with the great people of Arkansas Craft Distributors to make our product widely available to people in Arkansas that have been asking for it for so long.”
In a few short years, DESTIHL has earned multiple awards, including multiple Great American Beer Festival® (GABF) medals, Festival of Barrel Aged Beers (FoBAB) National Wood-Aged Beer Competition 2015 Best of Show, 2016 Best in Show-Runner Up and 2016 Gold for its Dosvidanya® Russian Imperial Stout (aged in bourbon barrels).
DESTIHL’s sour program began several years ago in 2008 with its barrel-aged Saint Dekkera® Reserve Sour Ales, which have also won several awards, and it was that brand that originally got the brewery noticed nationally back in 2011 at GABF. However, the brewery’s notoriety rose in late 2014 to a whole new level with its trend-setting release of the WiLD Sour Series in 4-packs of 12 oz. cans. This Series is a line of bold kettle sours DESTIHL produces with its own wild mixed-culture which is indigenous to the central Illinois brewery.
Beers from the Wild Sour Series (including cans of Here Gose Nothin’, Blueberry Gose and the dry-hopped sour SynchopathicTM) are hitting shelves and tap lines in Little Rock and Arkansas’ northwest reaches this month along with one of the brewery’s core year-round offerings, Weissenheimer® Hefeweizen. Look for launch events and samplings around Little Rock and throughout Northwest Arkansas June 12-15.
