Bend, OR – Deschutes Brewery is geared up and ready to have some fun introducing its beers to craft beer fans in Pittsburgh, May 20-24, 2014. Everyone’s invited to come to any and all of the following events to sample a few delicious Deschutes Brewery beers and chat with the team from Oregon.
From Flight Nights to simple meet & greets, fans can pick and choose what events they’d like to attend — everywhere from Robinson Township to Lawrenceville — with many stops in between. The beers being showcased at the events include Mirror Pond Pale Ale, Black Butte Porter, Twilight Summer Ale and Chainbreaker White IPA. At select locations, more limited-release beers like Hop Henge Experimental IPA and Fresh Squeezed IPA will be flowing.
The brewery is hosting a series of “Meet, Greet, Sample” events all over the Pittsburgh area from Wednesday, May 21 to Friday, May 23 as part of its launch schedule. It’s the perfect opportunity to try some combination of the beers above while meeting the personalities from Deschutes Brewery. What: Hats Off To Homebrewers
Attention homebrewers and beer geeksÔÇªcome share your love of craft beer with the staff from Hop Farm Brewing Company and Deschutes Brewery.
Chat with brewers from both breweries. Sip four samples from each brewery from your commemorative snifter. Gather clone recipe cards to use in your next homebrew (supplies are limited). But that’s not allÔÇª
Enjoy those beer samples from each brewery expertly paired with three gourmet tapas-style items from Wild Purveyors. Mix in a “Stump the Brewer” Q &A session and you’ve got an amazing event. See you there!

What: Friends of Riverfront Work Party/Deschutes Brewery Tailgate Appreciation And Fundraising PartyÔÇ¿Deschutes Brewery loves to help! Building a healthy community wherever their beer is available for sale is important to the brewery crew from Oregon. Why not celebrate their arrival in Pittsburgh with a little giving back? And of course, they love their rivers and trails. They have teamed up with local non-profit Friends of the Riverfront for a work party near the Monongahela River on the Southside. Riparian zone maintenance and trash collection are on the menu. Plan to get dirty!
They will throw a tailgate party for all volunteers prior to the Pittsburgh Pirates game at a location near PNC Park to be revealed at the work party. Beer from Deschutes Brewery and catering by the Big Burrito Restaurant group will make everyone feel very appreciated. Additionally, anyone who can’t make the work party, but wants to tailgate can offer a donation for Friends of the Riverfront for admission. And Deschutes Brewery will match all donations! lease join them for a good cause!
