Clown Shoes to Enter Philadelphia Market

Clown Shoes BeerLater this month, Clown Shoes Beer will add Philadelphia to the growing list of markets that the small contract brewing operation based out of Ipswich, MA is currently being distributed.

Sean Geary, the Brand Manager for Clown shoes confirmed today that Bella Vista Specialty Beer Distributors will distribute five or six Clown Shoes offering’s, including new releases Supa Hero and Vampire Slayer, beginning the first week of February.

“As we have grown, we have been able to pinpoint what we are looking for in a distributor,” Geary said. “We are looking for partners that aren’t necessarily the biggest, but really want to get behind the brand and we found that in Bella Vista.”

Geary said the company will at first only send a small, initial shipment into the market, hoping to test the response and maintain freshness.

Geary also dished on some plans for 2012. He said the company is hoping to release 10 new beers over the course of 2012 and may begin distributing as many as three brand new styles in 12 oz. 6-packs. The company currently distributes two of their beers, Clementine and Lubrication, in 12 oz. 4-packs, packaging that could see the chopping block later this year.

Geary also noted that sale across the Massachusetts market are up 2.5 times over a year ago.
