Covington, KY — Braxton Brewing Company will be celebrating their second anniversary on Saturday, March 25th at their taproom and on 7th Street directly in front of the taproom. To celebrate, the Covington-based brewery is releasing two new bottled beers, hosting four music acts on an outdoor stage, tapping new beers on draft, including food trucks, and more.

“It’s hard to believe that it’s been two years. A dream that started in the garage has truly exceeded our wildest dreams!” said Jake Rouse, Braxton Brewing Co. Co-founder and CEO. “To celebrate, we’re putting together an amazing party fit for an anniversary, and of course, beer! This year, we’ll celebrate with new beers and we can’t wait for you to try them.”

Braxton Brewing Co. began in the garage on Braxton Drive in Union, Kentucky. But without the friendship between Brewmaster Richard Dube and COO Evan Rouse, the company would not be what it is today. This relationship will be celebrated with two exciting new beers being released at Braxton’s 2nd Anniversary — Mentor, a Belgian Tripel and Mentee, a Belgian TableBeer brewed with Guava and Pomegranate.

These beers, brewed by Richard – The Mentor – and Evan – The Mentee – represent their personalities and relationship. Brewed using a parti-gyle technique, the two brews were both created using the same mash.

“We designed a recipe to showcase a traditional style that I love, but produced it using parti-gyle — a unique method more known to the homebrewing community,” said Richard Dube, Braxton Brewing Co. Co-Founder and Brewmaster. “It was a fun and exciting day on the brewdeck, and we know you will appreciate the efforts.”

Mentor is a Belgian Tripel featuring the use of Belgian Candi Sugar. The 22 oz. bomber is being released on March 25th. It was inspired by Dube’s love for the style and a way to highlight the brewery’s capabilities in only its second year.

“To get back on the brewdeck felt great,” said Evan Rouse, Braxton Brewing Co. Co-Founder and COO. “It has been awhile since I was last brewing, but it took me back to the days of when we first opened. This is a really unique project that Richard and I have been working on for quite some time. Through Parti-Gyle brewing, we used the same mash to create two totally different beers.”

Mentee is a Belgian Table Beer brewed with Guava and Pomegranate and was inspired by Evan. It’s meant to be a play off of Mentor while also showing contrast between the two classic styles and the people who brewed them. This fruited table beer will also be available in 22 oz. bombers on March 25th. More details including price, limits, and availability will be released in the following weeks.

In addition to Mentor and Mentee available on draft, Braxton will also be tapping a brand new Dry-Hopped Sour called Tinker. Stay tuned as the event draws closer, Braxton always loves a few last minute beer surprises.

If the beer lineup isn’t enough to get you to 27 W 7th St., the brewery also has an amazing day of music lined up. Throughout the day, four different bands and a DJ will keep the good vibes flowing alongside the beer. The final lineup will be announced soon!

As always, Braxton knows how to throw a Block Party. And no Block Party is complete without food. The party will host Cuban Pete’s Sandwiches, Empanadas Aqui and Texas Joe Tex Mex.

“It’s hard to believe that two years have already passed. With your help we have achieved things that we never even dreamed about early on,” said Greg Rouse, Braxton Brewing Co. Co-Founder. “We have proven that we know how to throw a party, and this event certainly will not disappoint. I look forward to seeing you all there for a great celebration.”

The party will begin at noon on March 25th and run until 11pm. Fore more event details and to stay up-to-date on all updates, join the event on Facebook.
