Boston Beer Pays Tribute to David Ortiz with Release of Big Hapi Double IPA

Boston, MA — From one Boston icon to another, Samuel Adams will help Boston celebrate the remarkable career of Boston Red Sox all-star David Ortiz with an extremely limited release brew – Big Hapi – available only on Friday November 4th at the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery. The Sam Adams brewers are stepping up to the plate with a bold mango juice-infused double IPA to pay tribute to one of the best athletes to ever play the game, and thank him for all the incredible memories he’s given Red Sox fans.

Only 541 bottles will be available – one for each homerun Big Papi crushed out of the park throughout his 19 year career. Big Hapi will be available exclusively at the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery, and all proceeds from the sale of the beer with go to The David Ortiz Children’s Fund.

About the Beer:

Big Hapi is a double IPA made with more than 5 pounds of hops per barrel and dry-hopped with five American hop varieties from the Pacific Northwest. Infused with mango juice from the, this brew boasts strong citrus and tropical notes, a piney backbone and resinous flavor.

WHAT:  One-day-only sampling and sale of “Big Hapi”, a hop forward double IPA brewed with mango juice to commemorate Big Papi’s final season. 541 bottles (Papi’s career homerun number) will be available for $29.99 exclusively at the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery on Friday November 4th only.
