Backlash Beer Company Launches With Release Of Groundswell

GroundswellBOSTON, MA — Backlash Beer Company, the newest addition to Boston’s bustling craft beer scene, is excited to announce the release of its maiden brew. Groundswell, a Belgian style Blond ale, will be dropping the first week in August.

Brewed with 4 different varieties of malt, Groundswell has a light golden color and smooth mouth-feel. Subtle yet complex flavor components include pilsner malt sweetness, fruity yeast esters and citrus notes from the addition of Indian coriander. Crisp and refreshing, Groundswell is simple but far from dull. (ABV: 7.3%, IBU: 22)

This inaugural batch will be available in 22 oz. bottles and on draft in Boston and Cambridge. Events and availability information will be released on BacklashBeer.com and Facebook.com/TheBacklash.

Helder Pimentel, President and Founder, spearheads the Backlash launch along with co-owner, Maggie Foley. The core driver behind Backlash is to craft beers the way they were originally intended — flavorful, gimmick free, and not produced in ridiculous quantities. Backlash aims to reclaim beer by recruiting people to fuel the craft movement.

Bostonians Pimentel and Foley currently brew out of Paper City Brewery’s 20 barrel system in Holyoke, MA. Backlash batches will be limited in quantity, and it’s not yet been determined when Groundswell will be brewed again. Grab a pint while you can!
