Deschutes Brewery Brings Base Camp to St. Louis

BEND, OR – Deschutes Brewery brings its Base Camp for Beer Fanatics campaign to St. Louis for an amazing series of specialty beer tastings, beer and food pairings, and appearances by Woody, the giant beer barrel on wheels. Deschutes brewers, ambassadors and fanatics will be on hand to provide some in-the-trenches insight into our courageously crafted brews.

What is Base Camp you may ask? It’s a place where Deschutes Brewery offers beer fanatics a spot to “pitch a tent” of sorts — and find their footing with the cornerstone of Mirror Pond Pale Ale. Deschutes Brewery Base Camp is a celebration of Mirror Pond’s easy-drinking goodness, along with many more of the brewery’s passion-heavy, pioneering brews. Deschutes Brewery is coming all the way from Oregon to celebrate at the St. Louis Microfest! Woody, Deschutes Brewery’s giant traveling beer barrel, will be there to greet craft beer fans with his 8 tasty taps. There will be SO many delicious brews to sample, including Mirror Pond Pale Ale, Black Butte Porter,Chainbreaker White IPA, Inversion IPA, the brand-new Deschutes River Ale, the newly released summer seasonal Twilight Summer Ale, and very limited amounts of The Stoic. Deschutes River Ale Launch Party

Are you ready to try one of Oregon’s newest craft brews and chat with the fun-loving folks from Deschutes Brewery? They are ready to launch their newest year-round brew, Deschutes River Ale, in Missouri. They are sure you will fall in love with this session ale with craft soul. Other favorites like Mirror PondPale Ale, Black Butte Porter, Twilight Summer Ale (just released!) and Inversion IPA will be on tap as well. Better yet? Whether you are an aficionado or just want to learn more, a symphony of delightful flavors await you. Bridge Tap House and Wine Bar Executive Chef Stephen Trouvere has designed an exquisite flight of gourmet ice cream made with Deschutes Brewery beers. Better yet? Each ice cream will be paired with a Deschutes Brewery beer like Obsidian Stout, Chainbreaker White IPA, Inversion IPA and the decadent Black Butte XXIV. Flights are $20 per person.

Build Your Own Beer Dinner

If you love beer and like to cook, then tonight’s the night! THIS is the beer dinner you don’t want to miss. Esteemed Schnucks Cooking School chefs Gay DeMichele, Lucy Schnuck, and Tory Bahn will lead guests through an elegantly designed “beer-dinner-how-to-cooking show.” Audience participation requires menu sampling and sipping on favorites like Mirror Pond Pale Ale, Black Butte Porter, Chainbreaker White IPA, Inversion IPA, Obsidian Stout,and the brand new Deschutes River Ale. Brewmaster Brian Faivre will talk about the process of making beer. The Cooking School Chefs will discuss the food pairing process while demonstrating how to cook with beer via television. It will feel like you are on the set of a food network show! Space is limited!

Deschutes Brewery Pint Night

Deschutes Brewery has joined forces with the brand new St. Louis Flying Saucer to feature a great lineup of beers for a special Base Camp edition of the “Saucer’s” famous Pint Night, including a few very hard to find brews. The Class of ’88 Barley Wine, a collaboration from Deschutes Brewery, Rogue Ales, and North Coast Brewing Company, will highlight the evening. This beer is very limited! Also on tap will be favorites like Mirror Pond Pale Ale, Black Butte Porter, and the elusive, draft-only Armory XPA. Buy a pintÔǪkeep a special pint glass from Deschutes at the end of the evening.

Learn more about the particulars of cheese from the folks from the Creamery and more about the particulars of craft beer from Deschutes Brewery Brewmaster Brian Faivre. Featured beers are Mirror Pond Pale Ale, Black Butte Porter, Chainbreaker White IPA, Inversion IPA, Obsidian Stout and Deschutes River Ale. Woody, Deschutes’ giant traveling beer barrel, will be on hand to share in the fun and act as a huge “photo booth” just for you and your friends.
