New research from Mintel, a London-based research firm that provides data across various consumer channels, suggests that Hispanics are more likely to select beer as their alcoholic beverage of choice. According to the report, Hispanics drink more imported beer than any other ethnicity.

The Austin, Texas-based Jester King Craft Brewery today announced plans to periodically send limited supply of its beer to a number of new out-of-state markets. The Belchertown, Mass.-based Shelton Brothers Importers acted as the brewery’s “master distributor” for the most recent shipment.
The Brewers Association today announced details regarding the 2012 Great American Beer Festival (GABF), the annual beer sampling event being held October 11-13 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colo. The GABF is largest beer event in the U.S. It spans across three days and is attended by 49,000 thirsty craft beer fans.

Firestone Walker Brewing Company announced yesterday that it will sell its Nectar Ales brand of beers to Total Beverage Solution (TBS), a beer, wine and spirits company based in Mt. Darden Restaurants, Inc. announced that it will acquire the popular craft beer centric restaurant chain Yard House for $585 Million according to press materials released yesterday. Darden Restaurant Group’s brands include Red Lobster, Olive Garden and The Capital Grille, among others. Yard House currently operates 39 restaurants across 13 states and is expanding.
The nation’s 16th largest craft brewer needs more space and is traveling 1,500 miles away from home to find it. The Portland, Maine-based Shipyard Brewing Company has inked an alternating proprietorship agreement with City Brewing Company in Memphis, Tennessee, bringing an additional 30,000 barrels of capacity online.
