Video: The Lost Abbey Crashes a Beer Tasting

Earlier this month, The Lost Abbey co-founder Tomme Arthur, quality assurance manager Gwen Conley and multimedia manager Ryan Tillotson flew from San Diego, Calif. to Washington D.C. to crash a private beer tasting.

Tillotson created the alias Chris Molken on beeradvocate.com, and asked if some Lost Abbey fans would be kind enough to let him join their tasting.

The idea? Surprise the unknowing participants with tons of rare Lost Abbey beers and a special visit from Tomme Arthur.

“We felt like this was an opportunity to go out and tell our story to people who may or may not even be the beer advocates of the world,” Arthur said.

The goal was to create brand champions.

“This was a great way for us to share our story,” he said. “Our goal is to create fans for life whether it’s two or 150 people at a time.”

The brewery has already released the Pat One in a two-part video recap of the trip. The second video will be released by tomorrow. Stay tuned
