Starr Hill Partners with Feed.fm to Create Better Beer & Music Experiences

Charlottesville, VirginiaOnline music licensing service Feed.fm has teamed with Starr Hill Brewery to create a branded, customized and connected music listening experience that allows fans of the award-winning craft brewer to take their favorite music and favorite brew with them wherever they go.

Starr Hill joins a host of clients who use Feed’s “Music as a Service” to build brands, customer loyalty, and drive sales with music. Starr Hill Radio will feature artists from several music festivals of which Starr Hill is a sponsor, including FloydFest artists Ray Lamontagne and Thievery Corporation and LOCKN’ Festival artists the Allman Brothers Band and Widespread Panic.

Feed’s fully customizable player will give visitors to Starr Hill’s website a curated playlist of music they can take anywhere with their mobile device. The player, installed on any website, online game or other connected offering with just a few lines of code, provides instant and fully-licensed access to Feed’s own library of over 1 million tracks, or to any tracks the client desires.

“Feed’s service has cracked the code for customizing the relationship of music to product online,’’ said Duke Fox, Starr Hill’s Vice President of Sales. “By solving the legal issues, Feed is giving us a way both to individualize the customer experience and build a bigger community around our brand through music.”

Feed provides a one-step solution for businesses looking for a hassle-free way to add popular music to their online offering, enhancing the customer experience and driving sales. For pennies a day, Feed handles all the legal and licensing issues and provides tools to easily measure ROI. Feed customers are seeing average session times and user retention increase by 400 percent and 80 percent, respectively.

“Consumer-focused businesses have long recognized the power of music to drive sales, but to date, putting that relationship to work online has been ineffective, too complicated and often both. Feed has fixed that,” said Jeff Yasuda, Feed.fm’s CEO and founder. “We’re thrilled with the direction Starr Hill is taking with our service, customizing it down to the individual brand and customer. Now, when people hear a specific song, on Starr Hill radio or somewhere else, they’ll think of Starr Hill beer.”
