Portland Brewing Co. Celebrates Oregon Craft Beer Month

PORTLAND, Ore.— It’s a big month for Portland Brewing. In addition to hosting a series of unique events in celebration of Oregon Craft Beer Month, the brewery is also releasing a new beer for the Oregon Brewers Festival and kicking off a partnership with the Sandy River Basin Watershed Council.

Want to drink beer and help the environment? Kick back with a ZigZag River Lager and rest easy knowing that a portion of the proceeds of this crisp refresher will go to the Sandy River Basin Watershed Council all throughout the month of July. Founded by local residents in 1997, the nonprofit seeks to restore the ecological, cultural, and historic resources of the Sandy River basin and tributaries (including the Zigzag River). In addition to being an outdoor nirvana for Portland’s metro population, the Sandy Basin encompasses the Bull Run River, a direct source for much of Portland’s water used in brewing, a provider of drinking water for almost a third of Oregonians and as a habitat for wild salmon.

Portland Brewing introduces an exclusive beer for the Oregon Brewers Festival — Raspberry Oregon Honey Beer. The beer begins as a riff on its summer seasonal but with a big twist: raspberries. 168 pounds of sweet, tart locally sourced raspberry puree to be exact. Keep an eye out for this limited release at the Oregon Brewers Festival and the Portland Brewing Company Taproom during the month of July.

Many more events are also being held at the Portland Brewing Company Taproom in celebration of Oregon Craft Beer Month:
