OrchestratedBEER Surpasses 100 Brewery Software Customers

PORTLAND, Ore.Orchestra Software has reached yet another company milestone with its 100th brewery software customer. Orchestra Software’s industry leading brewery management software solution, OrchestratedBEER, has maintained triple digit yearly customer growth rate percentages since its launch in 2011. A growing collective of more than 500 daily users representing 100 craft breweries around the country look to OrchestratedBEER to produce, track and account for more than 15 million barrels of craft beer annually — or 9.4 percent of craft beer produced in the U.S.

Although OrchestratedBEER customers feature regional flagship names like Firestone Walker Brewing Company, Avery Brewing Company, Full Sail Brewing Company and Founders Brewing Company, it’s the smaller start up breweries utilizing the cloud-based OrchestratedBEER OnDemand product that make up nearly two-thirds of its customer base.

A major contributing factor to this success is catering a brewery specific solution to the wants and needs of craft breweries.

“Orchestra Software’s approach to delivering highly specific enterprise software was a response to the consumer need for tailored solutions built for their story,” added Orchestra Software President, Brad Windecker. “OrchestratedBEER addresses the very specific business challenges breweries face on a daily basis.”

Orchestra Vice President, Reshad Kazimee, attributes the success to a robust, yet scalable solution instead of generic off-the-shelf bookkeeping software:

“We aren’t just creating web-based tools that cover up problems in bookkeeping software or spreadsheets,” said Kazimee. “The problems breweries encounter with current generic tools are compounded with time and inevitable growth because they aren’t designed to account for the variances created by complex brewing processes. It’s a big reason why we chose to build OrchestratedBEER on a scalable ERP platform instead of generic, off-the-shelf bookkeeping software. This enables us to continue to build out the reports, digital brew sheets, mobile applications and features breweries need on a daily basis.”

OrchestratedBEER’s reliance on customer feedback continues to drive the future product road map with new features, functionality and most importantly — ease of use.

One such feedback source is the OBeer User forum, an online community of more than 150 users that contribute to the product through commentary on features to add in the future. Jason Heysteck of Founders Brewing Company in Grand Rapids, Mich., submitted an idea through the forum that was drawn up that day by the OrchestratedBEER development team and uploaded for testing four days later. User submitted features like this become standard for all customers after a rigorous beta testing period.

OrchestratedBEER also recently increased ease of use by extending functionality to mobile devices through an iPad packaging application now available on the iTunes store. With 12 breweries currently using the mobile application, Kazimee expects 80 to 90 percent of customers to replace paper and clipboards in the brew house with the iPad applications by the end of next year.

Aside from highly specific software, mobile apps, innovation, customer-driven product development, Windecker says the community aspect of OrchestratedBEER is perhaps the most prevalent differentiator.

“It’s the intangibles like the execution and implementation of customer suggestions and ideas that sets us apart,” added Windecker. “OrchestratedBEER isn’t just software; it’s also an adoption and application of brewery best practices and methodologies in the software refined over time by the best craft breweries in America.”

Not surprisingly all these aspects combined result in an unparalleled customer retention rate of just over 97% over the past three years. “It’s something we’re extremely proud of,” added Windecker. “It’s the cross-departmental efforts of our team striving to keep our users the focal point that makes OrchestratedBEER the premiere brewery management software solution.”
