Far From the Tree Cider Partners with Massachusetts Bevarage Alliance

far from the tree

Salem, MA – Far From the Tree is expanding its reach. The Salem-based cider house has announced a partnership with Massachusetts Beverage Alliance to accommodate its steady growth rate and ability to offer its small batch, traditional, craft hard cider to consumers throughout the state.

Until now, Denise Snape, the co-founder and CEO of Far From the Tree, was packing as many cases of cider as she could fit into her Mini Cooper and self-distributing the company’s product around the North Shore and greater Boston area. Recently, it became obvious the cidery needed help delivering its varietals to an increasing number of accounts. Both parties are excited about their new business agreement.

“Since we’ve decided to also offer our cider in kegs we thought this would be the perfect time to partner with MBA so more people can enjoy our cider. We are constantly experimenting and trying to stay ahead of the curve. We love the tradition of wine making and the fun of craft brewing. We think our ciders are the perfect combination of both worlds and excited that our fans in Western Mass and the Cape can now enjoy them” Snape said.

“The hard cider category is growing fast nationally but in particular the local craft hard cider segment is doing especially well.” Said Brian Murphy, Director of Sales & Marketing for the Massachusetts Beverage Alliance. “When we met Denise and Al we felt that we had a great opportunity to partner with good, hard working people who are making outstanding local hard cider, it was a natural fit and couldn’t be more excited to begin!”

MBA network consists of five distributors throughout the state – Merrimack, Burke, Colonial, Commercial and Atlas. MBA will begin distributing cases of Far From the Tree on July 20 and kegs August 3.

About Far From the Tree

After returning from England where Al Snape received his Viticulture and Oenology Degree, he and his wife Denise moved back to Massachusetts to launch Far From The Tree in September 2013. Far From The Tree is proud to use only 100% Massachusetts freshly pressed apples to make small batch, traditional, craft hard cider in Salem, MA. Because cider making has a long history in Massachusetts we’re using 250 year old traditional methods like fermenting and slowly aging our cider in barrels. We’re also making a cider that excites us by using the cornucopia of flavors that New England has to offer to further express where our cider comes from. We like to think that our ideas may be far from the tree but our ingredients and our way of doing what we love couldn’t be closer to home.
