21st Amendment Brewery Welcomes New Director of Sales

The 21st Amendment Brewery announced today that Ted Whitney has joined the team as their new Director of Sales. Ted comes from the great Boulder, Colorado-based Avery Brewing Company where he worked for nearly seven years, most recently as their National Sales Director. Ted began a career in wine sales but he soon realized he was trading wine samples for beer a little too often and he decided it was time to give himself over to craft beer. Saved by Beer!

“Ted is the guy we want to take us to the next level of growth and distribution,” said co-founder Nico Freccia. “He’s a smart, very knowledgeable and passionate beer guy, but we really knew he was the right fit when we discovered that The Big Lebowski is among his favorite films.” Ted will manage the 21st Amendments’ expansion plans and growing sales team in 16 states encompassing 49 distribution partners.

“I’m stoked to be part of the 21st Amendment team. They’ve got all the elements they need to make anything they want happen and I’m very excited to explore what we’re capable of together,” says Ted.

“Anybody who can get suspended from the University of Colorado for brewing beer in his dorm room has got to be our guy,” added co-founder and Brewmaster Shaun O’Sullivan. “We are super excited to have Ted leading our team and with the vision and big plans he brings to our brewery.”

21st Amendment Brewery was founded in San Francisco in 2000 by Nico Freccia and Shaun O’Sullivan. In 2008, we began packaging our beer in cans and selling locally. That year, we shipped a total of 1,000 BBLs. In 2013, we expect to ship more than 55,000 BBLs. To us, the 21st Amendment means much more than just an end to Prohibition. It means the right to brew beer, the freedom to be innovative, and the obligation to have fun. Raise a can and celebrate the right to be original.
