Ninkasi Brewing will expand distribution to Arizona per an agreement with Golden Eagle Distributors, the wholesaler has announced.
In late October, the brewery out of Eugene, Ore. will launch in the Phoenix and Tucson markets before subsequently broadening its reach statewide. Arizona marks the eighth state in the brewery’s U.S. distribution footprint. It also has a presence in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Ninkasi’s foray into Arizona is the first distribution expansion the company has undertaken since launching Nevada in late April, the same month that the company officially opened its second brewery at a cost of $16.1 million.The new facility gave Ninkasi an additional 70,000 barrels worth of brewing capacity, a critical boost for the company, which, by the end of 2013, had nearly maxed out the 90,000-barrel capacity of its first brewery. At the time of the facility’s launch, Ninkasi told Brewbound that it is forecasting production of 115,000 barrels in 2014.
