Alaskan Brewing Co. Expanding into Minnesota

JUNEAU, AK — Beer drinkers in the land of 10,000 lakes will soon enjoy brews from the state of 100,000 glaciers when Alaskan Brewing brings their bottled “taste of Alaska” to Minnesota this May. Alaskan Brewing Co. is partnering with Original Gravity, a network of locally-owned craft distributors, to bring their award-winning beers to market in the Twin Cities and surrounding suburbs.

“We have had a lot of interest in Alaskan Brewing and so have our customers,” says Original Gravity’s Hans “Hanszee” Lofgren. “We are extremely happy to be bringing their award-winning beers to market!”

This is the first new market entrance for Alaskan since entering Colorado in mid 2008. With the addition of Minnesota, Alaskan beer will be available in 11 states.

“Alaskans and Minnesotan’s have a lot in common — cold winters, a love of the outdoors and a growing appreciation for quality craft beer,” says Alaskan Brewing co-Founder Marcy Larson. “We’ve been getting letters, calls and emails from thirsty Minnesotans for years — we’re thrilled to finally be answering the call.”

This year the Juneau-based Alaskan Brew Crew celebrates their 25th year of handcrafting award-winning beers brewed with the historic recipes and local ingredients of the Last Frontier. Alaskan will be entering Minnesota with their Gold Rush-era inspired Alaskan Amber, and a number of other year-round and seasonal beers. All of these products will be available in kegs and caseware throughout the Twin Cities in May.

Alaskan Brewing and Original Gravity will be posting news and announcements about launch events and activities at Facebook.com/AlaskanBrewingCoMN and AlaskanBeer.com as they get closer to the May 1 release.
