BROOKLYN, N.Y. - May 19, 2025 - The Michael James Jackson Foundation for Brewing & Distilling (The MJF) is now accepting applications for its next cohort of scholarship awardees. Applications open today, Monday, May 19, and will close at 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, May 30.
The MJF provides scholarship awards to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in the brewing and distilling industries, helping remove financial barriers to education and professional advancement. Since its founding, the foundation has awarded more than 50 scholarships to emerging professionals across the country.
"We’re not just helping people go to school, we’re helping change the future of the industry," said Garrett Oliver, founder of The MJF and brewmaster of Brooklyn Brewery. "These scholarships open doors to technical education, but also to a pathway to industry leadership, providing our awardees with the opportunity to eventually assert change themselves. This next round of applications is another chance to build toward a more diverse, skilled, and innovative craft beverage community."
To apply, visit The MJF website and complete the application form before the May 30 deadline.
