CHATHAM, N.Y.-- Chatham Brewing, Columbia County’s first brewery in New York’s upper Hudson Valley, has been named the winner of the New York Beef Council’s “Best NY Burger” Competition. The microbrewery’s "Loaded Brewery Burger" was selected out of the competition’s Top Ten most nominated burgers. This is the first time that Chatham Brewing has won the title.
The Loaded Brewery Burger is made of Trowbridge Farm Beef, a locally sourced farm in Ghent, NY that Chatham Brewing provides with spent grain from the brewing process, white cheddar Mac n’ Cheese, applewood bacon, and molasses barbecue, served on top of a toasted King’s Hawaiian sweet roll. This “exceptional culinary masterpiece” was crafted by Chef Zak Russell.
“When I created this burger, I just wanted to come up with something that everyone would love,” said Chatham Brewery Head Chef Zak Russell, head chef at Chatham Brewing. “I’m glad to bring the win back home to Main Street.”
The Columbia County microbrewery beat defending champion, Syracuse restaurant ‘Ales ‘n Argus’. Ales N Argus has won every year that they have competed in New York Beef Council’s Best New York Burger competition, until this year.
“Best burger I have had [in] a very long time,” said an anonymous judge from the New York Beef Council. “It was perfect.”
Chatham Brewing’s award-winning Loaded Brewery Burger will be available for a limited time throughout the spring season.
