Craft Beer Sales Account Manager

San Francisco Naturals is Northern California’s #1 food & beverage distributor. In 2023, we launched our Craft Beer Division, and we’re growing fast.

We’re looking for a driven, relationship-focused Beer Sales Account Manager to expand our presence across San Francisco’s on-premise (bars, restaurants, taprooms) and off-premise (retail, liquor, grocery) accounts.

This is a performance-based, field sales role for someone who enjoys being in the market, building relationships, and growing brands.

Position Overview

This is an Outside Sales role primarily conducted in the field. The majority of work time will be spent visiting accounts, generating orders, opening new business, and expanding placements.

The territory is concentrated within San Francisco and surrounding areas for efficiency and strong account coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage relationships with bar managers, beverage directors, and retail buyers
  • Secure draft placements, features, and package distribution
  • Open new on-premise and off-premise accounts
  • Expand product placements within existing accounts
  • Execute tastings, portfolio reviews, and promotional activity
  • Represent and sell the full SFN portfolio
  • Maintain accurate and timely CRM documentation

Performance Expectations

  • Target 12–15 in-person account visits per day within a dense, localized territory
  • Some visits (tastings, onboarding, portfolio reviews) may require extended time
  • Visit frequency may vary based on account needs and management direction
  • Maintain consistent communication with buyers and the SFN team during core business hours (8AM–6PM), with flexibility based on account schedules
  • Enter clear, real-time notes in Encompass for all meaningful in-person and remote sales activity
  • Continuously develop knowledge of beer styles, production methods, and competitive products to support account growth

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of craft beer sales experience (required)
  • Strong knowledge of draft systems and package sales
  • Proven ability to grow accounts and win placements
  • Self-motivated, organized, and performance-driven
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and insurance
  • Must pass background screening

Residence Requirement:

Due to the localized nature of this territory, candidates must reside in San Francisco or within approximately 20 miles of the city to ensure efficient daily coverage.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $70,000 – $73,000
  • Monthly performance bonuses and incentive programs
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Health insurance
  • PTO: 5 days after 3 months
  • Monday–Friday schedule

This role is structured as an Outside Sales position in accordance with applicable California labor standards.
