Total beer dollar sales in off-premise retailers reached nearly $44.3 billion in 2021, according to market research firm IRI. IRI, which tracks category-wide sales at major off-premise retailers, reported a -0.4% decline in off-premise spending compared to the same period in 2020, which ushered in massive shifts in consumer spending and behavior due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
FoxTrot believes convenience stores and corner markets need a makeover, and now it has more cash to make that a reality. The retailer announced Tuesday that it has raised $100 million to help expand into new markets and to invest into its e-commerce business.
Online sales of beverage alcohol reached $6.1 billion in 2021 and have more than doubled their share of all off-premise dollar sales since 2019, according to a new report from Rabobank beverages analyst Bourcard Nesin. Cincinnati-based Rhinegeist Brewery announced today the forthcoming launch of RGBevs: a new line of malt-based, fruit-flavored alcoholic beverages. The company also revealed plans for a new hard tea brand, Geist Tea. Both new products are set to hit retailers with Rhinegeist’s full distribution footprint in early March.
Atlanta-based SweetWater Brewing has filed a lawsuit against an artist who claims he is owed $31 million for the use of the brewery’s rainbow trout logos, Law360 reported.
