Wynkoop Brewing Turns April Fool’s Day Prank Into Reality (Video)

What initially began as an April Fool’s Day prank has turned into reality.

The Denver-based Wynkoop Brewing released a spoof video on April 1st which indicated that the company would be making a beer with bull testicles.

The beer, appropriately named ‘Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout,’ gave most folks a pretty good laugh at the time. But a few who didn’t quite catch the joke stopped by the pub looking for a taste and some brewers from around the country even emailed asking for samples.

Drawing inspiration from the ‘nutty’ prank, Wynkoop went ahead and actually made a beer with 25 pounds of roasted bull testicles — the fried version is more commonly referred to as ‘Rocky Mountain Oysters.’

Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout checks in at 7 percent ABV and is scheduled to be tapped at the Wynkoop, on Monday October 8th at 5 P.M. Only 8-barrels we made, so those looking to get their hands on this ‘ballsy’ brew should make plans to arrive at the pub early.
