DALLASTOWN, Pa. — Wyndridge Farm Brewing, a brewery in York County, PA, has released a new flagship beer. Handsome Bull DIPA is pound for pound, the most full-bodied flavor on the farm.
Handsome Bull is a juicy, hazy New England style DIPA, which evolved from Wyndridge Farm’s first Hunt Series seasonal program. People loved that hoppy, citrus aroma and balanced smooth DIPA, so we decided to make it one of our year round flagship products, available in cans and draft,” said Taylor Groff, Chief Operating Officer.
“This IPA is brewed with my favorite hops from around the world creating a double IPA full of tropical fruit flavor,” said Head Brewer Pete Koelsch.
The variety of hops used from North America, New Zealand, and Germany allowed each variety to lend its own unique flavor to the beer creating an end result that is bursting with notes of papaya, passion fruit, pineapple, guava, and tangerine.
“The hops were layered over a silky bed of oats and wheat, creating a soft mouth feel that allows the hops to shine,” said Koelsch.
Owner Steve Groff who grew up on cattle farms in Lancaster pays homage to his Grandfather Earl, a cattle breeder with Handsome Bull.
“He came from a humble beginning, was the son of a dairy farmer, and he took an interest in breeding the best quality Holsteins to improve the family herd and it’s milk production,” said Groff. “His interest and entrepreneurial spirit led him to be a driving force in the development of Atlantic Breeders in Lancaster county which became known for high quality breeding stock and innovative fertilization techniques, revolutionary at the time. My grandfather was a bit of a renaissance man, appreciating hard work and the common man, but he also enjoyed travel and the arts. He was a man who appreciated a good suit, his family, his faith and good animal genetics. I think we captured his essence with Handsome Bull and I hope to continue his work ethic and successful business practices here at Wyndridge.”
